Editorial and medical review policy
Our patient guides exist to help you understand your hip and make good decisions about care. Here is how we keep them accurate.
Effective October 14, 2026
Who writes and reviews our content
Every condition and treatment page is written for patients in plain language and medically reviewed and approved by Dr. Stride, MD, a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, before it is published. Each page shows who reviewed it and when.
Our sources
We base our content on current guidance from the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the National Institutes of Health and MedlinePlus, peer-reviewed research and major academic medical centers. The main sources for each page are listed in its References section.
Accuracy and updates
We review every page at least once a year and sooner when guidelines change. Recovery times and outcomes are described as typical ranges, because every hip is different, and we do not promise results.
Independence
This website carries no advertising and no sponsored content. We do not accept payment to mention any product, device or company.
Not a substitute for a visit
The information on this website is educational. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an exam. For a medical emergency, call 911.
Corrections
If you see something that looks wrong or out of date, please tell us at appointments@drstridehip.com. A clinician reviews every correction request.
